Margarita Shrimp Tacos



Margarita Shrimp Tacos are a zesty and flavorful twist on traditional shrimp tacos. The shrimp are marinated in a tequila-lime mixture, giving them a burst of citrusy and slightly boozy flavor. These tacos are perfect for a festive meal or a casual dinner with friends.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup tequila
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Lime wedges for garnish

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine tequila, lime juice, minced garlic, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to make the marinade

Add shrimp to the marinade and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat

Remove shrimp from the marinade and cook in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque

Remove from heat

Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for about 30 seconds

Assemble the tacos by placing a few shrimp on each tortilla

Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, sour cream, and cheddar cheese

Garnish with lime wedges and serve immediately
